About WAFA
WAFA is committed to fight poverty and illiteracy in a sub-Saharan region specifically In Malawi. Currently it is running projects offering outstanding education to girl child .The purpose is to help the poor students get all the basic educational rights and facilities at Zomba and Blantyre centers at no cost.
Poverty remains the major factor in Malawi whether a girl child can access education In Malawi, 80 out of 100 girls get married under aged, just because they are deprived of quality and affordable education. The economy of Malawi continues its volatility and for WAFA to fund its activities it’s becoming a challenge.

World Association Friends of Africa (WAFA) is a Charitable Non- Governmental Organisation registered in Malawi with both Council for Non-Governmental Organisations in Malawi (CONGOMA) and Non-Governmental Organisations Registration Authority (NGORA)
WAFA works on helping communities to achieve sustainable development through:

Our Mission is to satisfactorily raise a generation of a Muslim girl child in an Islamic environment by and through the provision of education in both Islamic and secular studies aiming at the highest possible standards.

GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT
The Trustees of WAFA operate in accordance with the governing document of the organisation and are responsible for all matters pertaining to the governance of the organisation.
When priorities, as per the objectives of WAFA, are set for the year, Trustees do give careful consideration to the organisation general guidance on public benefits.
The Board of Governance has clearly defined roles, while the Board of Trustees reviews and sets the strategic goals and direction for the organisation with the Administration department led by the Chairman, Head of Finance, Head of Programs and Head of Corporate Affairs who implement the strategic plans.
WAFA main programs are education and social welfare. It has active committees for the school and madrassah as well as rural committees which oversee the implementa- tion of rural projects working hand in hand with WAFA Administration department.
